The Rockcod opener was slower than expected for the anglers who worked from Ano Nuevo to South Rock. The anglers at Ano reported windy conditions and slow Rockcod action. There were a few decent reports of nice Lingcod being caught in 80 feet of water near Natural Bridges. The South Rock area also produced some quality Rockcod and Lingcod. The Salmon action was decent for the anglers who worked hard for their fish. There was one boat that reported 5 fish at 36'50/122'00. The fleet worked from 36'49/121'56 to 36'51/121'59 near the edge of the Soquel Hole. The scores ranged from 0-5 fish a boat and all the fish were caught from 40-100 feet. The Salmon are still big so be ready with heavy leader line and strong hooks. The wind was blowing up near Ano early but the Salmon grounds were nice until 1:00.

The salmon were taking Red Krocodiles, Blue and Chrome...... Read More
