Dave Butler defintely takes the Top Honor Award for his 13 lb. 7 oz. Largemouth Bass catch-and he released her back to her spawning area after we took the photo. That's the sign of a true sportsman!! After the 3 trout plants which occured on Thursday and Friday the fishing was superb. Les & Bev Nason of Sacramento caught a limit together near the dam on worms. Ray Benson caught a Blue Tagged Trout that weighed 6 Pounds using PB by the dam. Cindy Corral topped off her day with a 4 lb. 4 oz. trout using PB. Dan Taylor & Bob Thorne landed 6 Rainbows together on worms. Al & Rodger Alvis caught a variety of 3 trout & 3 Crappie for their supper. Josh Morrow of Chico trolled a Rapala just off the main campsites area and netted a 6 lb. 6 oz. Rainbow. Congrats to Sheri Hickman for her 1st Fish Ever she caught on a worm and a bobber near the dam. Mike Strauss fished under the power lines trolling a worm with Powerbait on the line and caught a 5 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow Dean the "Fishing Machine" is up to his old tricks again. He found his fishing spot again, limits everyday!!

Orion, Zoe, & Chloe took home a nice stringer of 8 Rainbows and 1 German Brown. They still fished with Power Eggs and tossed some Roostertails too. Larry Schembari & daughter Cheryl had a fantastic day of fishing. Their biggest weighed 4 lb. 4 oz., then a 2 lb. 12 oz. and 2 lb. 4 oz. were the mentionables. Jim Souza of Grass Valley also topped his stringer with some large trout, a 5 lb. 4 oz., a 3 lb. 8 oz. and a 2 pounder trolling Kastmasters near the dam.

The trout are still pretty shallow, with no need for lead core line or downriggers at this time. Trolling a Sling Blade and a worm or Rapala or lure and very little weight is still the system that is working well. Shore fishermen are primarily using Powerbait or a combination worm and Powerbait.
