Impressive Striper Catches From Lake Mohave

We have some great news! A fishing event is on the horizon, just in time for the rainbow trout season. In addition to the usual action, we’re planning a special trout plant for beginners, where both kids and adults can learn to tie knots, cast, and maybe even catch a fish. Stay tuned for more details as the event approaches.

In the meantime, here’s some exciting news from Lake Mohave. Local angler Mark Osgood, also known as "Corn Man," and his fishing buddy Sheila Wallace recently had a successful trip. They landed some impressive fish while trolling. The smallest weighed in at 5.94 pounds and measured 27 1/4 inches, while the largest was a whopping 9.56 pounds and 31 inches long. They used a bucktail jig and an AC plug to boat these catches.

I’ve also been hearing great things about anchovies producing good results, especially near the dam. One angler stopped by for bait and mentioned he was catching smaller stripers from the shore.

Here along the Colorado River, below Davis Dam, anglers are catching fish from the dam to the nature center. Anchovies remain the bait of choice, with stripers ranging from 1 to 4 pounds.

I’ll have more information on the Elks Fishing Event soon and will post updates. We appreciate your support, and we look forward to hearing about your catches.

Now, go catch a fish!
