The Fly Shop
The river continued its drop and is now hovering around 300 CFS at the lake. Daily water temps are beginning to approach 70 F, we'd recommend fishing higher in the drainage like around Simms or higher to ensure you don't stress any fish you hook. Just a quick update to say the dry fly has been pretty good towards the evening, you should have some Golden Stone and Missing Links, Dark in #14 - 16. Fish are eating Duracells, Frenchies, Walt's Worm and just about any well-presented Perdigon. Fish them under Chubby Chernobyls and you can pick up a fish or two on the Chubby. Good BWO and a few PMDs are coming off. Look for your best chances at dry fly towards dark. Bring your favorite BWO patterns, some dark Missing Links in #16-18 and target the feeding fish with some finesse and you should do well. The Upper is in good shape right now for a good day!
