Fish Report for 6-14-2024
Hex hatch has just begun
6-14-2024
The Fly Shop
We heard that the Hex hatch has just begun. We'll keep an eye on whether or not it stabilizes ad is on every night. Fishing has continued to improve and we are now seeing summer conditions on the river with a Trico spinner fall early in the morning followed up by the PMD fall. The small Angler's Curse are coming off along with PMDs, Baetis and Callibaetis. Bring your Adams assortment from #22 - 12 to cover everything. Bring some CDC Trico Spinners and Hackle Stacker Tricos for the morning and for the PMD fall in the morning bring your Rusty Spinners in #16, the PMD Challenged or #14 Last Chance Cripple in Pink Albert for the hatch. Swinging and stripping leeches will round out your day for some good grabs. Sweet Peas, olive X-Mays, and Peaches N' Cream will work for you right now. A variety of Pheasant Tail nymphs from size 12 up to 18 is always a good plan as well. For dries, you best chances will come in the morning with the spinners, and during the hatch probably around 10 or 11. If you would like to reserve a day with a guide this spring for some great dry fly fishing on California's finest spring creek, give Bryan or Chris a call in Outfitters at 800-669-3474.
Hot Flies:
• Lance's Jigged X-May
• Weiss BP Nymph
• Norman's Wiggletails
• Pheasant Tails
• Mercer's Missing Link
• Zug Bugs
• Zack's Stillwater Swimming Leeches
