Riviera Marina Fishing Report

Rusty

Well, if you've been fishing lately, you know it's slow. The first part of spring has most of the fish in spawn or pre-spawn. While the fish are on the nest guarding the eggs, they are not interested in eating for a bit. Personally, I'm not a fan of taking the fish off the nest as it kills the eggs.

Anyway, the striper bite is a bit on the slow side but should be picking up soon as the smaller ones are coming in. And yes, that's me in an old photo with a sunfish and a largemouth bass. The bass are nesting or close to it, and the panfish will be nesting soon after. Laughlin Bay is a great area for practicing your catch and release skills.

I was using a ned rig in the PP&J color with the lightweight on the head and the tubz. These fish will be hungry soon, so now is a great time to get your equipment ready for our fishing season. Up on Lake Mohave, it's about the same. The fishing area is seeing a lot of action, so it's slow for about a couple of weeks.

Hope this helps for now. Anyway, look forward to seeing you in with some fish and to share your story. We have slips and do prop repair, and we have a great selection of tackle. Thanks for all of your support. Now Go Catch A Fish, Rusty Riviera Marina, 520 Riviera Blvd., Bullhead City, AZ. 928-763-8550.
