Riviera Marina Fishing Report

3-14-2024
Rusty

This is some great news as the smaller striped bass are starting to come in. Our local anglers, Matt Crowder and Vin Liker, were fishing the Colorado River from Matt's boat, spanning from the Parkway Bridge to the Laughlin Bridge. They managed to land a couple of stripers ranging from 1 to 3 pounds. A reminder: ensure good, fresh knots on your line and that the drag is properly set when targeting larger stripers.

With this catch, it's likely that anchovies will soon be effective along our shores, if not already. Additionally, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass should be nearing pre-spawn and actively feeding to prepare for nest protection. This applies not only to the Colorado River but also up on Lake Mohave. Plastics should work well for bass fishing.

The limit for stripers below the Davis Dam is 10, with no size limits. For largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, the limit is 6 and 13 inches in length, respectively. We hope this information proves helpful, and we eagerly anticipate your visits to share your catch and stories. Thank you for your continued support. Now, go catch a fish!
