Flows are low, and it’s winter fishing. This time of year can be pretty cold and fish will be moving slowly, but if you get your depth right you will find a few eaters. Snow melt may cause bumps in flows
Small midge and mayfly nymphs along with caddis larva are a good go-to. Fish will be holding in deeper water.
On water days, fish may be looking up to the occasional midge hatch, and dont’ discount a slow fished streamer.
Nymphs: Prince Nymphs and variants 14-18, RIO’s Raindrop 14-16, TBH Jig Caddis 14-18, Czechmate 14-16, Hydropsyche Caddis nymph 14-16, Olive Cased Caddis 16-18.
Pheasant Tails 18-22, Micro Mayfly 16-20, Killer Mayfly Brown and Olive 18-20, Grey and Brown RS-2 20-22.
Zebra Midge or Poison Tung 18-22, Rainbow Warrior 18-20, Disco Midge 18-20, Black Midge Pupa 18-22.
Dries: Sproat Midge 20-24, Griffith Gnat 18-24

San Juan River: Flows are steady on the old Juan at 350cfs
San Juan River: Low flows, cold weather
Piedra River: Most of the Piedra will be covered in ice
Los Pinos River: Below the dam, flows have been dropped extremely low
Dolores River- Below McPhee: Wadeable flows at about 40 cfs out of the dam still
Dolores River- Below McPhee: It’s cold and frozen, come back in the spring

San Juan River : Flows have just been dropped to about 600 cfs
Arkansas River: These cooler days have finally caused water temps to drop and fish are starting to feed pretty good
San Juan River: Dry/Droppers might not be a bad idea still
Piedra River: Can be a great time to fish a Euro setup
Los Pinos River: Below the dam, fishing will be pretty good
Dolores River- Below McPhee: Wadeable flows at about 50 cfs out of the dam
Dolores River- Above McPhee: The Upper Dolores is fishing decent but cold days are ahead
Rio Grande: It’s Fall wadin time up here on the Rio
Florida River: Below the dam, the flows have been dropped and fish will be spooky
San Miguel River: Flows are a good wadable level, get after it!
Gunnison River- Black Canyon: Flowing clear and lower
Uncompahgre River: Flows are dropping, so it’s time to keep it sneaky and go smaller on the flies
