Fishing Conditions
Below the dam, fishing will be pretty good. Fish your favorite nymph rig with worms, leeches, attractor nymphs, and scuds.
The upper is fishing well when you can find fish, but you may need a stealthy nymph rig approach.
Do not forsake a streamer in the fall.
Patterns/Bug
Nymphs: Prince Nymphs 12-16, Brown Wired Stone 10, Copper John 12-18, Pats Rubberlegs. Pheasant Tails 16-20, Pickpocket 12-16, Duracell Jig 12-16, and other Euro Nymph Jigs 10-16.
Olive and Grey Scuds 14-16, Ray Charles, etc.
Chubbies, Amy’s Ant, and Stimulators 12-16, Morrish Hopper 8-12.
Parachute Adams and Rocky Mountain Mints 14-16.
Streamers: Thin Mint, Cheech Leech, Mini Sculpin, Sparkle Yummy.

for Tuesday, October 10th, 2023San Juan River : Flows have just been dropped to about 600 cfs
Arkansas River: These cooler days have finally caused water temps to drop and fish are starting to feed pretty good
San Juan River: Dry/Droppers might not be a bad idea still
Piedra River: Can be a great time to fish a Euro setup
Dolores River- Below McPhee: Wadeable flows at about 50 cfs out of the dam
Dolores River- Above McPhee: The Upper Dolores is fishing decent but cold days are ahead
Rio Grande: It’s Fall wadin time up here on the Rio
Florida River: Below the dam, the flows have been dropped and fish will be spooky
San Miguel River: Flows are a good wadable level, get after it!
Gunnison River- Black Canyon: Flowing clear and lower
Uncompahgre River: Flows are dropping, so it’s time to keep it sneaky and go smaller on the flies

Arkansas River: Animas river bumped a little with rain
San Juan River: It’s a Dry/Dropperman’s world on the Upper Juan
Piedra River: Flows are low and attractor dry/droppers are a good go-to
Los Pinos River: Below the dam, fishing will be pretty good
