Fish Report for 12-8-2023
There are still anglers catching quality striped bass in the southern aqueduct
12-8-2023
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
While many anglers have thrown in the towel for the winter there are still anglers catching quality striped bass in the southern aqueduct. Live bait has been the best option, and anglers who know how to legally net shad, silverside minnows, and sculpin have had excellent results. Cut baits, live worms, and jumbo live minnows have also been good bait choices. Lure anglers used jerk baits, tube baits, and small swimbaits for decent results. As usual, the best place to fish was after check gates. Catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait, and garlic nightcrawlers. Bass anglers used Senkos and finesse baits in any place with slower moving water for a few fish.
