Thrilled and eager were the hardcore anglers of the annual Waterman's Ball run. The key target will be the larger model Bluefin. The "local" zones is plentiful with small school grade fish and rather easy to get bites, though we opt to push west of the fleet anyway trying to locate the big dudes.

With not knowing where the big fish was going to be, eyes were glued to the gyro binoculars, and ears peeled to the sonar. Mid afternoon was when we saw our first sign. 80-200 pounders blowing out under Tern birds. "Hard to hook and even harder to land" about sums our first afternoon fishing. The ones we were fortunate to land were all beauts. We will give it some time looking around tonight hopeful to find a school to drop our heavy line and lure on.

Today's photo is Royal Star seasoned vet, Dan Kanan. Dan's dandy model was an example of the size caught this afternoon.
