The lake remained at 92 percent of capacity, and water temperatures held near eighty degrees. The pattern of chasing boiling fish in the mornings and evenings has not changed, and anglers can get in on the action with a variety of upper water column baits. Topwater lures, water filled bubble rigs, and small swimbaits all worked for bites. The key has been accurate casts right on top of the ones-and-twos that are the most prevalent type of surface feeding activity. The action occurred in the first and last three hours of the day. Large and smallmouth have been getting in on the morning feeding frenzies, and after that drop shot, shaky heads, and Ned rigs in 10 to 20 feet of water put a few more fish in the boat. Catfish anglers soaked cut baits, nightcrawlers, and dip bait near the marina, and bluegill have been readily available on any live worm in the back of brushy coves.
