Kokanee have been on the move

This week has been a week of fish on excitement and hard work by all my fantastic customers, THANK YOU ALL!!. Kokanee have been on the move and locating them a real challenge. Thank you Don & Alexa on Tuesday for your efforts and great rod work. Ken and William joined the group on Wednesday and learned how to fish for the silver bullets and net them. Andy and his very competitive pal Kevin joined in on the fun Thursday. Apparently their voices could be heard across Detroit lake as they fought over the rods & the kokanee and whom had the biggest fish. Finally, on Friday father & son, Dean and Andy, shared another trip with me to continue their kokanee lessons. Even though the day was met with a tough bite we managed to put 15 fish in the box. The last one was caught as we were drifting with the wind at 2.3 mph and had all ready taken our group picture. We did have some nice sized kokanee. I'm so grateful to all of you and have enjoyed guiding you into kokanee on Detroit Lake. Until next time.....

Today my buddy Bob and I went out to Detroit to scout for kokanee. We started on the south side of Piety Island and trolled along the south shore line to blowout. After circling the blowout area and driving into blowout itself, we headed back across to the north shore line towards Mongold. Between 0600 hrs and 1100 hrs we located so few fish.
