We departed on our Katie's 8 Day Summer Slam with a great load of bait and a good group of anglers. We cleared the point and pointed South. On our way down Katie hosted a raffle with tons of giveaways that included a bag of tackle that included line, JRI jigs, t shirts with even a custom wrapped rod and a few SKB boxes. We arrived to our first destination after a couple days of travel and imidiately got to work on Yellows with a few Grouper in the mix. We decided to keep rolling south after our first fishing day and when we woke in the morning we were greeted with wide open Yellowtail that were mostly 18-22#s. The dropper loop with 80# test was the most productive method as well as Yo Yo jigs. Once we got what we wanted we made a move and had a great morning on Yellowfin. Our last day down below we tried the Alijos Rocks but unfortunately conditions were off and the Wahoo did not want to play. We are working our way up the coast now and have a little more time to fish before we call it a trip.
