A relatively brief visit to the “stones” that were stunning in their beauty but stingy with their rewards. The main prize sought did make a couple of thrilling appearances complete with instant chaos and almost inexplicable results. But that is typical in the realm of long range wahoo fishing. The craziest things one can imagine are commonplace when twenty anglers engage with the fastest, most erratic fish in the ocean. I’ll save the stories for another edition. Suffice it to say that’s exactly why we ventured the first move outside. There is nothing in the fishing world remotely comparable to the lighting pace action when wahoo are in town. Even a small taste is worth the ride. And that’s exactly what we got - a small taste amidst the stunning atmosphere of Alijos in tropical mode. 76 degree sea temperature , grease calm, crystal clear blue water and skies; a spectacular day to be on the water.
Taking the cue when the fish cleared out of the shallows mid afternoon we bid the iconic long range beacons farewell on course for the inside. Reports of red hot action and incredible abundance are an irresistible draw. Photo today features long time Royal Star veteran and friend Kevan Yamahara with his first of several “skin” landed today.
If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4764 to get in on the action.
