A slow start to the day carried into afternoon in languid conditions. Tons and tons of lazy bluefin patrolled the surface in huge spots visible for miles. And, back to their normal form, one could try in vain for hours to hook a single fish. Fishing fortune does favor perseverance. Being our middle name one spot finally cooperated yielding a handful of prime opportunities that these talented anglers made good on. And then came the night. Hot and heavy in one stop made the night memorable in every way. As good of jigging action as one can hope for led to an hour of superb fishing for 70-150 pound bluefin. What a mad house that fortunately tested our ability but came up short in a valiant attempt to overwhelm.
Shifting gears we'll take our good fortune and relocate for a little species variety tomorrow morning.
Todays image features Royal Star angler Marty Jackson with a beautiful daytime bluefin.
