A well executed game plan leaving Captain/Co-owner Alex in the drivers seat to continue his assault on these fantastic grade bluefin tuna. But before the nighttime action began we made a dual purpose move down the road hoping to infuse some variety into the catch. As it turned out production was marginal but the opportunity to fish fine grade yellowtail on the anchor for a few morning hours was embraced, and thoroughly enjoyed, by all. 

An ideally timed, all afternoon run back up to the bluefin zone laid a perfect foundation for the night to come. Recharged by a good long siesta anglers were geared up and driven to make the most of opportunities to come. And come they did. Fast and furious best describes the action during multiple stops that produced solid scores on 90-120 pound bluefin tuna. It’s very difficult to give credit to the intensity of such stops in writing. Participants in the fray are left with stunning memories as perceived impossible battles and “line collisions” are resolved by veteran crewmen whose dedication to each individual contest comes from the heart. It’s as if the guys working the deck want to catch the fish more than the angler themselves. We do. Each battle is personal to us. We are invested the outcome as fishermen first. It’s a win win with every contest that ends in success. And when the inevitable agony of defeat sometimes strikes - we lament and lick our wounds together. 

The successful night was full of such moments and candor as a worthy catch of these beautiful bluefin accumulated in the RSW tanks. Fulfilling best describes the night’s conclusion. A job well done by everyone together at the rail.
