Goldwater Lake Fishing Report
7-1-2023
Arizona Game & Fish Department
Lower Goldwater Lake is now catch-and-release fishing only with artificial flies and lures only for all fish species. There are no watercraft permitted in this water, including kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. During this spring the lake was stocked with brown trout, albino rainbow trout, and Gila trout. Largemouth bass fishing is beginning to pick up as the fish are moving off the nests and are becoming more active. Game and Fish biologists last surveyed Goldwater during October 2021 and found the largemouth bass and bluegill plentiful. Try using worms or mealworms on a bobber. Small spinners may work as well.
Upper Goldwater Lake trout were last stocked the week of 6/29/23. Most anglers are having the most success with PowerBait. Early in the morning and in the evening the bite may be a little better. Some days the fishing seems to be better than other days as well. Catfish were stocked as recently as 5/31/23 and will continue to be
stocked for the next few months. The limit for bass is one, minimum size 13 inches. Game and Fish biologists last surveyed Goldwater during October 2021 and found the largemouth bass and bluegill plentiful. Try using worms or mealworms on a bobber. Small spinners may work as well.
