Upper Lake Mary Fishing Report
7-1-2023
Arizona Game & Fish Department
Road access to the lake is open and the main boat launches and the Narrows are open. Local campgrounds (Canyon Vista, Lakeview, and Pine Grove) are now open. Northern pike and walleye are being caught by fly, lure, and bait anglers. Walleye are the hot species right now. Worms fished on a jig head or night crawler harness have been the most productive approach. Aquatic vegetation is growing well in the lake which is improving water clarity and providing cover for fish. Predatory fish will lurk on the deep edge of the vegetation waiting for food items to pass by that they can ambush. Fishing the edge of the weed line is a good approach.
