Fall River Fishing Report

7-4-2023
The Fly Shop

Report: The Fall continues to fish well up top at the Spring Creek Bridge and down through Zug Bug with good PMD and Baetis hatches daily. The weed beds are definitely filling in and there are some nice fish from the Spring Creek Bridge down through the CalTrout access. Spinner falls in the morning can be productive if you are in the right place. For the spinners you will want to try the CDC Biot Spinner in PMD, during the hatch a #14-16 PMD Challenged is a good choice. For nymphs, the Sweet Pea, olive and brown S&Ms #16 & 18, Olive Hotspot in #18, and the Red Headed Stepchild and RK Sin City in #18 are all good ones to have in your box. Tricos are just beginning to hatch now. The Hex Hatch is in full swing. Keep your eyes open for Caddis and always have some leeches ready to swing in the deep holes.
