Fish Report for 6-14-2023

This river looks so juicy right now!

This river looks so juicy right now! The flows have dropped quite a bit and now are hovering around 1,400 CFS at Delta, the turbidity gage is not doing it justice as it has quite a bit of visibility. The flows are still high and the river can be dangerous, you won't be wading across, you'll be swimming. However, the stoneflies, Salmonflies and Goldens, are coming off. From Simms and upstream, you can now find some softer water to fish. Large Rubberlegs highsticked or under an indicator will do the trick. Dry-dropper with a Chubby Chernobyl can be a good setup as well. The great thing right now is there is still enough tint to the water the fish feel safe. As this month progresses, you should expect the river to continue to drop, more intense insect hatches, and some dry action toward the evening. For now, you can pour over your Upper Sac nymph box, rig up a rod and come on up!
