The lake fell to 88 percent of capacity, and fishing has been good. Bass anglers reported a decent topwater bite on walking baits, Whopper Ploppers, and poppers. By mid-morning most of the spotted bass action has been deeper in the water column, and anglers used drop shot, Ned rigs, and darter heads to fool fish. Aaron’s Magic, Natural Shad, and Green Pumpkin were all good colors for finesse anglers. White bass anglers trolled small swimbaits and spoons to good effect. After locating boils anglers threw topwater, spoons, and in-line spinners to land white bass. Catfish ate chicken liver, cut baits, and dip bait, and crappie went for small live minnows and minijigs tipped with crappie nibbles.
