So this is what we know so far for Rock Creek Canyon…. The road is opened to the Pack station. Be aware there’s water and cinders on the road and it can be slick and dangerous . Rock Creek lake is still frozen in spots and appears to be very slushy. There are some open waters on the edges , the only way to get to the lake, would be to walk through snow. The snow is melting, extremely fast, and the lake looks unsafe for any kind of ice fishing. Keep in mind there is no cell phone service up there, and none of the canyon resorts are opened. French Camp and Tuff Camp will open this Thursday. French appears to be reservations only and Tuff has first come first serve. It is so beautiful right now … play safe everyone.
