Lake Siskiyou Browns and Bows
4-18-2023
Scott Caldwell
Fishing on Lake Siskiyou has been mostly good to great. The last few weeks, mother nature, has been giving us some crazy sspring weather. Snow to 80 degrees and everything in between, including wind. Yes, wind, of all the possible weather choices wind has consistently been the most difficult to fish through.
With all that said, fishing has been pretty good. My clients have been catching and releasing (mostly the Browns) and keeping ( mostly the Rainbows) some beautiful Trout. These hard fighting great tasting trout have been a blast to catch. Plugs and spoons lathered in various Pro Cure scents, trolled on the surface, down to 50 feet, has been my main methods for landing fish.
Fishing is only going to improve as spring continues warm up.. Lake Siskiyou and Shasta Lake are currently fishing the best. McCloud Reservoir and Whiskeytown Reservoir are both fishable but need a little more time to warm up.
I am now booking trips for May through September on these Lakes. Fishing will be awesome this spring and summer give me a call 530 905 0758 or book online at Caldwellfishing.com and let's put your next Fishing adventure together.
