Ice anglers report fair to good catch rates for trout
4-13-2023
Utah Division of Wildlife
Ice anglers report fair to good catch rates for trout. The ice is 28 inches thick in the main marina area and 22 inches thick in the personal watercraft area. Snow machines are able to get onto the ice at both the PWC boat ramp and main Hailstone boat ramp. Anglers report decent catch rates for rainbow trout and splake in the mornings, fishing more shallow (5 to 15 feet of water). White and chartreuse tubes or jigs tipped with mealworm, nightcrawler or a piece of shrimp seem to be producing fish.
