The water has finally cleared the trout are biting with limits being recorded in Willow Cove and on the east end. Big fish of the week belonged to Michael Allen of Murrieta who caught a 9.90# s trout on rainbow powerbait on the west end of Senior Shore. Other notable catches included: Fausto Barron’s 8.90#, Mikey T’s 8.20#, Eric Tucker’s 7.50#, Scott Shintani’s 7.40#, Mike Bobay’s 7.20# and Ron Ilano’s 6.90# trout.

Catfish can be found throughout the lake and prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.

Crappie are preparing to spawn and are being caught in modest numbers both from shore and by boat. They respond best to mini-jigs or live golden shiners.

As the water warms the bass should become increasingly active. Bass can be found around structure and prefer dark colored plastics.

Hopefully the rains are finally going to subside and give us a chance to dry out and, more importantly, for the lake to clear. Scented powerbait, nightcrawlers dipped in garlic, or flashy lures are what is working best in the murky water. Catfish can be found throughout the lake and prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.
