The Crooked River has been fishing well

The Crooked River has been fishing well. Nymphing will be the most productive method for all times of day but fish have been rising for midges sporadically as well. For nymphing, running a dry-dropper with a chubby chernobyl and a leech, scud, midge or egg pattern down below is a good way to approach it. The river is pretty shallow in most places when its running at 50cfs so setting that dropper about 2’ under your dry or indicator is a good idea to avoid constant hangups on the bottom. For dries, winkers midges, griffiths gnats and stillborn midges have been recent favorites. The Crooked Canyon is a beautiful place to spend the day so get out there and get after some fish!
