The Metolius continues to fish well
3-24-2023
Fly and Field Outfitters
The Metolius continues to fish well. It's hard to go wrong out there nymphing with a golden stone followed by a small mayfly or caddis nymph. Golden stones, jig leeches, rainbow warriors, eggs, and nitro caddis have been some recent favorites. Fish have been rising for dries sporadically throughout the day as well so having a good selection of BWO’s and some caddis on you is a good idea. As always for the bull trout big streamers swung, stripped or dead drifted are effective. Don’t forget that the river above Allingham Bridge is closed until May 22, 2023. These regulations are in place to protect spawning rainbow trout so please adhere to them.
