Fish Report for 12-2-2022
Castaic held at 34 percent of capacity
12-2-2022
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Castaic held at 34 percent of capacity, and water temperatures fell into the low sixties. Bass anglers worked finesse baits in 20 to 30 feet of water for decent results. Drop shot, Ned rigs, and C-rigs in Green Pumpkin or Margarita Mutilator fooled plenty of fish holding on points. Vertical spoons have been another way to entice a few bites from fish holding deeper. Striper anglers used cut baits to fool fish down to 90 feet deep. Striper also fell for trolled flies and jerkbaits. Magnum swimbaits and topwater lures accounted for the occasional lineside to ten pounds. Trout anglers did well while using dough baits, Mouse Tails, and minijigs in the marina, and catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait, and cut baits.
