On the field and in the game we valiantly battled to a big, bold zero. Fish around, beautiful conditions, perfect position - no big fish. There are clearly some big bastards around this zone but as of now a paltry few. Afternoon brought a welcome change of pace as we headed in shore to break up the ride. Some humorous, tasty exotics lightened the mood that has fared exceptionally well in light of less than stellar production. A sign of experience, and anglers priorities grounded in reality, such occasions call for recognition of all the good features that far outweigh a little slow catching. In that respect this seasoned group of long time friends are having a great time. Tomorrow begins the uphill leg of the adventure as we again ply the ridge in search of good timing on wahoo. Today's image features long time Royal Star angler and friend Patrick Britton with a dandy wahoo he picked off on the long rod.
