Water Conditions
Great flows from stampede reservoir into the Little Truckee River at this time of year. Right now, the flows are at 122 cubic feet per second. The water is still really cold and clear, so the fish are happy as well.
Tips for the Week
There are still some dry fly opportunities at the Little Truckee River and nymphing has picked up. Anglers dry fly fishing should use dry flies and dry droppers on 6x tippet with 10 to 12 foot leaders to catch the easily spooked trout. Any angler nymphing should use small nymphs under a tiny indicator of their choice.
Suggested Flies
Rainbow warriors, Small midges, Blue Winged Olives, Caddis or Pale Morning Duns
