Mountain Hardware & Sports
The Kokanee bite is starting to wind down at Donner Lake, but there are still some bigger fish being caught in the 16 inch range. Kokanee are found around the 60 foot water column. Some Mackinaw being caught in 120 feet of water near the boat ramp. Anglers should troll with Lyman lures and rapalas for the Mackinaw. Shore fishing is slow right now, but will improve once the weather cools down. Look for trout to move back towards the shoreline near the shore drop offs.
