Water Conditions
Very low flows in both sections of the Little Truckee River, but look for water releases in the above stampede in the near future. The bottom tailwater release from Stampede at least keeps this river cool and provides a lot of oxygen for the fish. The section between Stampede and Boca will remain at low flows through winter, unless we receive some precipitation.
Tips for the Week
Fishing with dry flies and emergers are the best tactics on the Little Truckee River due to low water levels. There are a few areas to nymph, but not many above stampede. Better nymphing is found between stampede and boca reservoir.
Suggested Flies
Dandelion midge, RS2 emerger, split case bwo, juju emerger, and griffins gnat
