Update on The Crooked River
9-21-2022
Fly and Field Outfitters
As many of you know by now, the Crooked River has been dropped to 10 CFS and will remain at these flows until the conservation flows kick back up to around 50 CFS on the proposed date of November 1st. Our local ODFW biologist has confirmed this date.
These flows are potentially detrimental to the fishery and the fish. Along with low flows, the water coming out of the dam will also be warmer. We have suspended our guiding operations on the Crooked River and will resume once the flows are stabilized.
We encourage our shop guests not to fish the river at 10 CFS. We are working with local agencies and other fly shops in the area to see if we can encourage management agencies to enact an emergency closure on the Crooked to keep those native fish protected.
