Refreshing

What a great day on the water. Enormous spots of 30 - 100 pound bluefin up everywhere in flat calm conditions made for spectacular fish watching and, incredibly enough, some darn fine day time fishing. What a pleasure to hit spots, hook a few, settle in, and continue "plunking" while drifting along huge fish highways. Days like the past two are why anglers invest so much time and so many resources following their outdoor passion. As cliche as it is the say this is what we come for.
The closing note of the voyage said it all. Rolling in to yet another massive, five hundred yard long roiling cauldron of bluefin annihilating the anchovy buffet, one sole angler made it to the rail for a final cast. The rest were fully sated; satisfied, finished, done. Breaking down the gear in a festive mood while sliding down toward home spirits were elevated and flowing in celebration of success. Huge gratitude to Izorline for their sponsorship on this annual three day run. Enjoy today's image, another beauty that captures the action while bluefin mop up anchovies in the background.
