BASS
Big baits are out without the trout! Within 5 days of the Lassen stock swimbait fishing was on the decline but shad baits worked fine. You have to match the hatch for a great catch. Fish shad pattern cranks from a boat or the banks. Flukes on underspins or scroungers are first class for bass. When all else fails the drop shot prevails. Finesse worms in prism shad, oxblood, and watermelon red are knocking them dead. Bass will bite a Carolina rigged reaper, a big worm, or creature. Don't put the swimbaits away the trout will be here any day. Louie Marquez caught his biggest bass at 4.33 pounds fishing from shore with a Storm shad.

TROUT
DVL can't help but tout the trout. The Lassen truck will bring you luck. Mini jigs were the best for those 'bows, with Powerbait and nightcrawlers also tricking trout. Branon Hubert of Beaumont caught his biggest trout at 3.38 pounds fishing from shore with a white mini jig.

STRIPER
Striper fishing is insane either fishing the flocks or stocks. DVL striper are on the shad bad, so follow the birds for busting boils. After we drop the trout get the big baits out. Jesse Mena of Hemet caught a 13.94 pound striper fishing the east shoreline with a Lunker Punker. Dusty Parker of Cherry Valley caught a 16.9 pound striper fishing the east shoreline with a Lunker Punker. Jeffery Kerkhoff of West Covina caught a 3 pound striper fishing with a Kastmaster. Josh Baldwin of Murrieta caught a 13.37 pound striper fishing with a Lunker Punker. Ted Reed of Hollywood caught a 13.08 pound striper fishing the east shore with a Zplug. Bob Scaccianoce of Yucca Valley caught a 13.55 pound striper fishing with a BBZ. Yogi Brewer of Chino Caught a 7.64 pound striper trolling an AC plug on the south west side. Scott Eberhard of Big Bear Lake caught a 14.63 pound striper fishing with a BBZ on the south side.

CATFISH
Tommy McCraw was king of the cats this week with a 7 pound channel caught near the east dam with a nightcrawlers.

PANFISH
The pan fish bite is still reeling the east dam being the best spot. Blue gill is the most common catch, but some crappie are being caught. Live worms, mini jigs, and crickets are the best baits.
