April Steel on the Klamath
4-17-2022
Scott Caldwell
Fall/Winter Steelhead has been the name of game on the Klaamth for the past 6 months. We are now 2 weeks into April and have had a taste of Spring weather (Sunny and 70 plus degrees).Welcome to Siskiyou County, Mother Nature decided to throw some Rain and Snow back at us. What does this mean ? Absolutely nothing the Steelhead are still biting.
The past couple days on the river my client Vaughn caught and released 27 adult Steelehad between 16 and 22 inches. These Spring fish are are fiesty for there size. Backtrolling crawdad plugs was the hot method. Smashing take down bites, hard fighting jumping fish, what more can you ask for?
