Klamath kicks out a few nice Steelies

Once again another great couple of days on the Klamath with Al. The good old crawdad plug was king again. Slow backtrolling was the hot method. Al caught some nice hens topping out at 24 inches. These hard fighting fish crushed these plugs.

This time of year the fish are in post spawn mode and getting fat for their return to the ocean. Big meals like crawdads, salmon fry, sculpin, Steelhead fry are there main forage food.

We beginning to see fat little football summer fish and fall fish. These 12 to 18 inch fish are full of spunk amd fight hard. They will be fattening up on everything and waiting for annual salmon fly hatch in coming months.

If your wanting to catch a steely trout on a dry fly that is time. Give me a call 530 905 0758 or book online at Caldwellfishing.com amd let's talk about that time frame
