Fall River has been fishing great. Over the past few weeks the blue wing olive hatches have been really fun. The super cold temperatures seem to have slowed the hatch slightly but it’ll return once temperatures warm slightly. Small midge patterns can entice a rise as well. Under the surface fish have been eating the typical small midges and mayflies. Two bit hookers, tail water tinies, juju baetis, and small pheasant tails are great mayfly patterns. Remember that the Fall river fish are stocked fish, that means they are far more aggressive than your typical wild redband trout. When nymphing tactics fail, put a big obnoxious streamer in a fish's face and there’s a good chance the fish will take a swipe. As always, remember that fish aren’t constantly feeding. If the fish in a certain spot aren’t interested, move on to the next pod of fish, this improves your odds in a place like the Fall River.
