Lake Jennings Weekly Report

Lake Jennings Staff

  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 2,000 pounds of trout last week. The next stocking of 1,500 pounds will go into the lake the week of February 21st. Did you know 10% of every stock is 3+ pounds? For a complete stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? Trout limits were caught in Hermit Cove this weekend. With 2,000 pounds stocked, reports were all over the lake, but they were seen schooling in Hermit on Friday and Saturday morning. They were biting on mini jigs and powerbait. The trout are not fed for a few days prior to stocking, so they are most hungry the first weekend after a stock. A 4-pound trout was caught in Hermit Cove this weekend. See the pic below. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is a cool 59 degrees optimal for rainbow trout. The sun has been rising around 6:45 a.m. each morning and setting around 5:20 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • LAKE OPEN Presidents' Day: Join us next Monday, February 21st for fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, bird watching, and more! The lake will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • New Moon Fishing: Mark your calendars! The lake will be open for night fishing on Saturday, March 5th from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The entrance gate will close at 8:00 p.m. Full sized lanterns required after 5:00 p.m. Boat rentals are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • We're Hiring! We are currently hiring for the position of part-time Dockhand.
