Lake Jennings Fishing Report

Lake Jennings Staff
- Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of trout the week of January 24th. The next stocking of 2,000 pounds will go into the lake this week for a total of 10,000 pounds of trout stocked so far this season. Ten percent of every stock are 3+ pounds. For a complete stocking schedule, click HERE.
- What's the catch? Trout were biting from the shoreline this weekend. Bites were east of the t-dock and Hermit Cove on powerbait and inflated nightcrawlers. With the water temperature as cool as it is trout will be near the shoreline and surface, so try fishing the top half of the water column. Some sizable bluegill were caught in Eagle Cove this weekend on wax worms and half of a nightcrawler. Bass are becoming more active as we get closer to the spawn. They were biting on Senkos and drop shot off of the t-dock and Sentry Point. We are open for night fishing on Saturday and the big cats are on the move. Stock up on mackerel and try fishing in Siesta Cove. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
- Conditions: The current water temperature is a cool 59 degrees optimal for rainbow trout. The sun has been rising around 6:45 a.m. each morning and setting around 5:20 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
- We love your furry four-legged friends as much as you do, but dogs are not allowed on the recreation side of the lake per our recreation permit with the Dept. of Environmental Health, Division of Drinking Water. The "recreation" side encompasses the bait shop and parking lot, boat dock and parking lot and the road/areas beyond. You may walk your dogs on the campground road and trails. Thank you for your cooperation!
- Moonlight Fishing: The moon, the water, the fish! Does it get any better? We'll be open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12th for Moonlight Fishing. Full sized lanterns required after 5:00 p.m. The entrance gate will close at 8:00 p.m. Boat launches and rentals will be available.
- Lakefront Firepit Rentals: Bring your special someone for a cozy cuddle under the stars by the campfire! On Saturday, February 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., firepits will be available for rent in Hermit Cove. Rentals include wood, firestarter, and Adirondack chairs. One of our rangers will stand by with help lighting and extinguishing fires as needed. Advanced reservations required. Reserve your firepit HERE.
- Campground: We're looking for Volunteers Park Hosts to live and work in our campground! Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week including weekends and holidays for a campsite that includes water and electricity. Park Hosts greet and assist campers to ensure they have an enjoyable stay in our campground. If you're interested in this position, go to Helix Water District's career page.
