South Lake Fish Report
9-13-2009
Jared Smith
Cooler evening temps and light crowds equated to a good bite this last week. Not a lot of big fish are coming out but the number of folks leaving the lake with fish on the stringer has definitely improved as of late. The inlets are a bit on the slow side right now but the rock slide, the dam and boiler cove are stacked with fish. White mini-jigs, natural powerworms, olive wooly buggers and orange PB are working best on the rainbows.
The browns haven\'t made much of an appearance yet but you can expect them to get more active in the coming weeks, especially following the first good cold snap of the fall.
The lake level is steadily dropping but it\'s still plenty high to access all areas of the lake. No problems for private boaters either.
