I recently fished on a 3/4 day trip to the Coronado Islands on Captain Ernie Prieto's Chubasco II fishing out of the Chubasco II Sportfishing Landing on Mission Bay in San Diego . Captain Trevor was at the helm today and he headed us straight to the Coronado Islands in hopes of some yellowtail action. Shortly after arriving at the islands we were hooking into quality Coronado Island yellowtail. A nice mix of bait fish and jig fish made for some great action on 7 to 25 pound hard charging yellowtail. Everyone on board fished hard and by the end of the day we had put 17 nice yellowtail on board, high count for the sportboats fishing the islands today. Way to go Captain !!!
