Keep America Fishing Action Alert

6-23-2009

The State of California is woefully lacking the financial resources to implement the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) in a fair and science-based way. The cost to just scientifically monitor and enforce designated marine protected areas (MPAs) has been estimated to be over $30 million a year, but the state is currently $24 billion in debt.

Please send a letter to Governor Schwarzenegger supporting both the letter recently sent by Fish and Game Commissioner Dan Richards, and the suspension of the planning and implementation of the MLPA until the state has the financial resources to do it fairly the first time.

Voice your support for recreational fishing - send your letter now!
