Fishing this week has been really good being helped by two loads of Alpers Trout over the past two weeks and four more loads to come over the next month. Alpers will be dumping over 350 pounds of trout into Silver Lake in the next month so there should be no worries about catching some good quality fish between now and Labor Day weekend. Its time to get back to standard fishing with all the pressure the lake has had over the summer, we have seen several good quality stringers this week and some very nice large fish come in as well. The best looking fish this week was a nice 4 lb. 10 ounce Brown caught out of Rush Creek on a worm and at least a dozen nice Alpers brought in ranging from 2 to four pounds. Along the lines of bait fishing, it is best to take it to the bottom to get into the cooler water and allow your bait to float 24 to 30 inches off the bottom. Salmon Peach, Garlic and Rainbow Glitter Power Bait has been working real well this week, with a night crawler or Garden Worm being used early in the morning and late in the afternoon. If you like to troll you need to continue to go deep (35 to 40 feet) using some type of a dodger (Rocky Mountain Dodger or Seps) or try a Pink Tasmanian Devil or Rainbow Rapala. Also pulling in some nice fish this week is a Gold / Red Thomas Buoyant or a Fire Tiger Lip Ripper.

Water levels are beginning to drop as Summer begins to slide by and before we know it Fall will be here and fishing will only become more spectacular.
