Silver Lake Fish Report
7-10-2009
Andrew Jones
Fishing from the lake has been good this week, the wind has slowed things down a little bit but not much. From the shore, boat and in Rush Creek we have had several fish caught between 2 to 5 pounds and plenty of nice size stringers bringing brought in. From the shore they have been using Chunky Cheese Gulp Power Bait, Salmon Peach Power Bait and Garlic Powerbait. From a boat using a Tazmanian Devil (Pink), Rapalas, Kastmasters, Neddle Fish and Lip Ripperz have been working great. Trolling about 3 to 4 colors deep and using worms and various Power Baits still fishing at the inlet of Rush Creek. Rush Creek has been spectacular this past week. The water level has slowed allowing for more access throughout between Silver Lake and Grant Lake. We saw 7 fish over 2 pounds coming coming out of Rush this week and a beautiful 2 pound 2 oz brown caught on a night crawler.
Some Big Fish of the week:
- Ginger Bailey of Apple Valley - 4 pounds 8 ounce Rainbow caught from shore using worms.
- Ruth Weiss of La Mirada - 3 pounds 5 ounce Rainbow caught in Rush Creek using Rainbow Power Bait.
- Joe Jennerson of Santa Clarita - 5 pounds 4 ounce Rainbow caught from shore using Power Bait.
- Mike Stupy of Los Alamitos - 2 pound 5 ounce Brown caught from a boat using a Rapala.
- Steve Gardea of Brea - 4 pound 9 ounce Rainbow caught from a boat using a Berkley Worm.
