I recently got a chance to fish with Captain Tom Lee and crew aboard the 85' Freedom Sportfisher out of Sportfishing at 22nd street Marina in San Pedro. Our destination for the days fishing would be San Clemente Islands and our target would some of the islands monster yellowtail, seabass and calicos. During the awesome morning sunrise three large yellowtail were landed and a few more were lost before the conditions deteriorated. The rest of the day was spent catching nice quality calico bass around the islands' kelp beds and rocky stuctures. We ended the day on a wide open bite on monster calicos off the islands east end. Captain Tom Lee and the Freedom crew were top notch and its always a pleasure to fish on the Freedom.
