Pedro Pangas Fish Report

7-17-2009
Pete Hills

This fish report is from Pete Hillis reporting out of Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja Mexico for the week ending July 17, 2009.

The weather has been great. San Martin Island has been up and down on the yellowtail bite but good catch of calico bass and halibut when the yellowtail are slow. Bonita and barracuda are plentiful. Larry Biedebach, wife Debbie, daughter Julie and son-in-law Grant stopped in the bay after fishing the island. They were drifting while cleaning their catch and landed two (2) legal halibut and one 51-lb black seabass for a fantastic end to a great day's fishing. San Quintin yearly tournament will be held August 22nd this year. Hope the tuna and alby's are back and plentiful for some real competitive fishing.
