Mazatlan Fish Report- The Aries Sportfishing Fleet
7-9-2009
Larry Edwards
DORADO, DORADO & MORE DORADO. The hot bite action continues and
reflects superb dorado fishing at the shark buoys, producing easy
limits and numerous releases. This continues to be the light tackle
& fly fishing anglers dream as the fish chase most everything that
moves through the water.
We reflected 18 boats that focused on the dorado, along with 1
offshore boat that did land a single sailfish for their efforts; (The
Aries I).
Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy but warm days, with temps from 77
nights to 92 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Near perfect with stable temps at 85 degrees, very
little swell and flat water.
Best Fishing Area: Continues to be at the shark buoys for the dorado
at about 18 miles offshore.
Best Bait/Lure: The dorado are very eager on most everything, from
live bait to strip bait to cut bait, pencil poppers, feathers,
streamers, just make it move and they will bite it.
