WOULD THE ANGLER THAT CAUGHT THE 14LB LARGE MOUTH LAST WEEKEND PLEASE CONTACT PARDEE LAKE. IF VERIFIED THAT IS A NEW LAKE RECORD.

Partly cloudy again this weekend with a chance of rain and thunder showers. The long range forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, chance of showers, possible thunder storms and temps in the high 60s at least until Wednesday of next week. Water is currently 60 degrees at the 20 foot mark and 64 degrees at surface in the Marina. Water visibility improved to 16 feet. Water is no longer going over the spillway. Current water level is still high, within a foot or two of spill and steady.

BANK FISHING ---- Better weather for shore anglers last week and reports confirm that fishing was good in the recreation area. Hot spots remain the same, Tom Sawyer Island (particularly under the foot bridge), the Launch Ramp, Jackson Creek spillway, Rainbow Point and the bank behind the EBMUD boathouse. Some folks are fishing at the Woodpile this morning, will have results next report. Using clear bobbers with power bait suspended 3 to 6 feet below continues to be successful while others continue to use the sliding sinker setup. Silver/blue Kastmasters and black woolly buggers are very successful right after a plant. White power eggs, maggots and power worms are the best sellers at the Marina, with night crawlers and yellow power bait also popular. Chartreuse power bait with sparkles is also very effective.

TROLLERS----Trolling has improved this week, The Marina reports most all regulars are taking mixed limits and back in by early afternoon. Boats are working the River Mouth, the face of the Dam, up river as far as Columbia and some were running the barrel line in the South End. Trout have remained at 20 to 30 feet but the Kokanee are deeper still at 40 to 60 feet. The Kokanee have been plentiful, most are in the 8" to 11" range with an occasional larger buck to 15 inches. Equipment and bait the same, orange hoochies, bugs, sling blades or flashers tipped with a partial night crawler, small spoons or spinners, Uncle Larry's copper popper, pinkie or tiger behind a smaller Sep's silver, watermelon or silver/green dodger.

KIDS DERBY- the Derby held last weekend was a great success. About 125 kids participated in this annual Pardee Lake event. Everyone had a great time, lots of fish were caught and some great prizes awarded. Thanks to the Pardee Lake Recreation Management Team, Staff, Sponsors and Volunteers for another wonderful Kids Derby.

RECENT SUCCESS STORIES- J Anderson of Modesto got this 9.27lb large mouth and Burl Barrett also of Modest nailed this 7.54lb specimen here at Pardee. These gentlemen opted not to share the location and bait used, however swimbaits have been working well lately along the rocky points near the shore.

To date 57,000 lbs of good size Trout have been planted by Lake Pardee Inc. and the California Department of Fish and Game with another plant scheduled for the near future.
